It is official - Collin's engraftment day was yesterday on day 23. (We had to wait one day to make sure the numbers continued up) The big winners of Collin's betting pool were Grandpa Smith and one of his nurses Aimee. Yeah!! The funny story behind his engraftment day was that Irish (pictured here with Collin) has never won in 22 years of treating Bone Marrow Transplant kids. Irish missed winning by one day. He had guessed one day too early. When Collin was at .4 the day before we were sure this was Irish's win and that seemed appropriate since he had been with Collin through the whole thing. Aimee was a student from BYU Nursing School doing her capstone so she was on her last few weeks of her nursing program. She had her official last day on Monday. She is interviewing for the ICS unit next week. We hope she gets hired. The funny thing is that Aimee has never bet on a bone marrow engraftment before and she won - she picked it right. Collin and Irish called her at home on Thursday morning to give her the news. It was pretty funny.

Way to go Grandpa Smith and Aimee! Maybe the ones who win should have to double their bets.
YES!!! So exciting- I bet you can't wait to get out of there...
I'm so excited for Collin's progress. Isn't it wonderful the kind of love and support you get from the staff? Collin will remember these people all of his life.
