Sunday and we need suggestions....

Sunday was a quiet day for everyone. Collin had a short primary lesson while the other family members attended a sacrament meeting at a church we saw around the corner. Collin will not be able to attend church meetings for quite awhile due to the restrictions he has and his need to keep as sheltered from germs as possible. The best thing about his day was a milkshake. Collin adores ice cream (he once had a huge ice cream creation instead of a birthday cake) but he was told no more milkshakes or soft serve ice cream. Ice cream that we buy at the grocery store is fine since we can control the temperature and serve with sterile hands and equipment. So I brought the blender from home and we made milkshakes at the apartment. It was sweet to see him smile and ask for more.

Collin has many transfusions and doctors appointments ahead but we have some afternoons and evenings to explore. Collin can't do crowds or anywhere that would have a lot of dirt or germs. He can't go to the zoo but he can go to parks. So many of you probably have favorites in Salt Lake ....what are your suggestions for places/things to explore while we live here? Please leave any ideas you have in the comments or email me.

Sugar house park and the duck pond was a hit for me when I was young....not sure if ducks are on his list of "do's" or "dont's"....just a thought.

C - We love all the downtown parks - even the little one across from the Church Headquarters building with the statues and little stream with the water wheel. There's also the very tiny garden/park/cemetary up the street from there where Brigham Young is buried. Love that place.

Also love Red Butte Gardens up at the U.

This last one might be odd - but we LOVE the historic cemetary up in the avenues. I have a killer map you can borrow - and you can tour all the famous places where prophets and famous apostles are buried. It's one of our favorite places to go. Tombstones are so cool (at least for us!) Plus side - it's pretty much always vacant. I've never seen it crowded. Nobody likes this as much as us :)
