Yesterday morning Collin's fever started to fall. The doctors were preparing to add another antibiotic since the fever had continued through the weekend, but held off when his fever didn't climb back up. We waited anxiously, knowing that his fever is usually the worst in the evening. He didn't spike back up and by this morning he had cleared 24 hours without a fever. His temperature today continues to be normal. We are doing the happy dance!! It doesn't take much for us to celebrate these days.
Collin did get to leave his room yesterday. The doctors decided to get a dental x-ray to check for any infection in a tooth that could be causing the fever. So he walked to the third floor with a mask on. Again, it doesn't take much for us to be happy anymore and a small trip outside of the room was noteworthy.
Collin mentioned how hard this all is. I thought he was going to tell me that having Aplastic Anemia is hard. Instead he shared that he thinks it must be hard for his sisters and brother to not have Mom and Dad at home. He surprised me again.
