Pulmonary Testing
Today we arrived at Primary Children's Medical Center for a baseline pulmonary test of Collin's breathing and lungs. He was happy that it was finally a test that didn't hurt (most of the tests blood draws and require IVs). He did his best to blow hard and long into the tube hooked to a computer. Afterwards we had a day of meetings to go through diet, nutrition, and drug risks. Collin was bored through most of it. Half way through the afternoon Collin had another fever come on. After the last meeting it was decided to IV him again and give him another round of antibiotics. The IV's are really becoming a difficulty for Collin. He is really worried about having a central line put in next week but as we continue and all of his veins hurt, he is beginning to come around to the fact that it will be better for him. We left the IV in him as the doctors decided to have him do another CT scan tomorrow after the other testing that is scheduled. He was hesitant to come home with it, but we hope that it will keep him from another trauma tomorrow.
